Curing agent and thinner (thinner) have different functions.
The main function of the curing agent is to promote or control the curing reaction and cause the thermosetting resin to undergo an irreversible change process, thereby improving the strength, hardness and adhesion of the material. In paint, curing agents can speed up drying, improve the brightness, hardness and adhesion of the paint film, making the paint film fuller and more elastic. Curing agents are widely used in bonding materials and wall coatings during the decoration process and are essential additives.
The main function of thinner is to adjust the viscosity of the paint to make it easier to apply. Thinner can thin the paint and increase the soakability. There is usually no fixed ratio standard and can be added according to the user's needs and experience. The thinner is usually transparent and has no pungent odor, making it suitable for cleaning ink screens.
Therefore, there are significant differences in functions and effects between curing agents and thinners. Curing agents are mainly used to improve the properties of materials, while thinners are mainly used to adjust the workability of coatings.
