The curing temperature of the curing agent has a great relationship with the heat resistance of the cured product. Similarly, in the same type of curing agent, although they have the same functional groups, their properties and cured product characteristics are also different due to different chemical structures. Therefore, a comprehensive understanding of the properties and characteristics of polyamine curing agents with the same functional groups but different chemical structures is very important for selecting curing agents.
In terms of hue, the alicyclic group is the lightest and is basically transparent, while the aliphatic and aromatic groups are quite significantly colored. In terms of viscosity, there is also a big difference. Alicyclic ones are only a few tenths of a Pa·s, while polyamides are very viscous, up to several Pa·s, and aromatic amines are mostly solid. The pot life is exactly opposite to the curability. Aliphatic reactivity is the highest, while alicyclic, amide, and aromatic reactivity decrease in order.
